Their first store was located in the corner of Yonge Street and Castlefield Avenue in Toronto and it was originally named Broadway Fruit Market, The business started taking off and not long after their first store was opened, the brothers created the Longo's Fruit Markets and the Longo's store, that eventually became the official company name.

In 2004, Longo's created its own online marketplace to expand the reach of its 36 stores, offering a wide range of benefits to their customers and establishing the business as a modern, forward-thinking supermarket that also kept the traditions of their old country.
