Super C was created in 1982 under the name La Ferme Carnaval (Super Carnaval). Their first store was located in Beauport, Quebec, and sold a small number of discounted goods.

In 1987, the company was bought by Metro-Richelieu, a Canadian food retailer. The company was rebranded as Super C in 1991, kickstarting an expansion process that led the way to a new era for the company. Super C quickly became a favorite among the locals with a bigger product listing, better logistics, and an online marketplace.

Today, Super C owns and operates 98 stores nationwide, employing hundreds of workers at their stores, business offices, distribution centers, and eCommerce stores.
